Question: 431-3410
Is sea weed good for the garden? Will it effect PH? Libby, Middletown, RI

Mort's Answer:
Sea weed contains all 16 trace elements except boron and it adds a sense of humus to the soil. Rinsing the sea weed before adding to the soil will help maintain the higher PH. This can be a benefit in growing tomatoes. If you are growing leafy vegetables, especially lettuce, add some limestone to raise the PH. Trace elements provide beneficial mineral content to all vegetables.
