Question: 438-3510
Our old 40 foot privet hedge is yellowing this year. We planted them ten inches apart years ago. What can we do to bring it back? Omar, Taft, CT

Mort's Answer:
California Privet should be planted three feet apart. Your plants are strangling each other. Cut back every second and third plant to six inches from the ground this fall. Dig out the roots of the cut plants and either transplant them to another location or give them away. This will alleviate the root of your problem.
