Question: 387-3410
My Euonymous Emerald Gold has died back. We planted it last fall. There are no signs of insects. What can be the problem and can I save it? Helen, Norwich, CT

Mort's Answer:
It can bend the branches, then that branch can be saved. Cut back the entire plant at least in half. Remove all completely dead branches. Many plants have suffered the same malady with the dry winter that most of the country has experienced. Dig a couple of holes with a tie iron that go down a foot. Place the hose into the holes and leave the hose on in each hole for at elast 15 minutes. This will soak the dried roots. Repeat the operation in two weeks and then let mother nature take its course.
