Question: 354-5201
We planted Sweet William this spring. Will it come up next year? Mary, New London, CT

Mort's Answer:
Dianthus barbartus a.k.a. Newport Pink or bunch Pink is grown for its compact and sweet scented flowers as a biennial. Usually seeded in the preceding fall, it rarely succeeds in returning the following year. Sometimes it seeds itself, but the progeny can be tall or short annuals and perennials. It's a crap shoot.
