Question: 917-2116
We have a rodent in the yard that looks like a ground hog. It has several entrances in the garden. What is the best way to get rid of it? Sandy, Norwich, CT

Mort's Answer:
You are probably dealing with a woodchuck. Check with the town regulations. Some municipalities require licensed pest control experts to do the removals. You can use a Hav A Hart trap to capture these would be scoundrels (not the politicians). I use graham cracker with peanut butter. It does not kill them but they would for this treat. They are best deposited in woodlands far from your property where they can eat to their hearts content. They have been known to retrace your steps.
