Question: 1372-3316
I have a gold finch that is becoming a pest. It is pecking at my window constantly. I do not want to upset my neighbors in the complex with an ugly piece of cardboard or the like. Any suggestions? Nick, East Greenwich, RI

Mort's Answer:
A picture of my cat, Destiny, would drive it away to greener pastures. I am sure your neighbors would love her. Of course, a lion might be more foreboding. The bird is attracted to its own image. It thinks it is another bird and has become enamored with its new found friend. Actually, a picture of any cat should send Goldie to other suitable surroundings. This is better than capturing it and trying to domesticate the bird. It is possible that the bird could kill itself, if it flies into another window too fast. Birds killing themselves this way is increasing at an alarming rate.
