Question: 728-1512
We live in Massachusetts. I was wondering if there are really any palm trees that are "cold hardy" and able to survive in our growing zone? Also, we fell in love with Crepe Myrtle when we vacationed in the south. Can we grow them here? I love your web page and listen to you online whenever I can. Joyce , Springfield, MA

Mort's Answer:
If you lived in southern RI, which is now zone 7, it would be a possibility for growing Crepe. Palms are tropical plants that grow in zone 9 south. Global warming has increased chances for new plants farther north but not palms.
