Question: 362-0105
What fertilizer can I use on a small 18 in. high x 18 in. orange tree. Hank,

Mort's Answer:
As a houseplant, citrus needs more fertilizer than the outdoor plant in zone 9 south. Most potting soils do not contain enough fertilizer especially phosphorus. Granular higher middle number formulae like 5-10-10 is best. One application of a tablespoon each fall will aid the flower production.
