Question: 1373-3316
I saw a Harlequin Glory Bower at Blithewold Botanical gardens last week. Can you tell me more about it. Sandra, Bristol, RI

Mort's Answer:
It is in the Verbena family. Clerodendron trichotomum has beautiful clusters of white and red flowers at this time of year, as you saw. It can grow to 20 feet as a small tree or shrub. It is very fragrant and the dark red and white within the flower is most attractive, while it lasts through September. It needs some protection in zone 6 for the winter
