Question: 1344-315
We have about an acre that is loaded with a ground copper that has burrs. What will kill this menace? Pam, Sholo, AZ

Mort's Answer:
Horse Nettle has white or purple flowers and a tomato like fruit. Burdock has a red or purple flower before it is a burr. If you have sandy soil, they could be sand burrs. Any of these perennial pests and many more can be treated with Vine-X. This systemic herbicide will kill any vegetation that it touches right down through the roots. Vinegar and salt applied on a hot day will also kill most vegetation. After you have rid the land of this pest, be sure to sow some rye grass and other grasses the following spring to prevent further germination of the burrs by crowding it out.
