Question: 1071-213
Where can I find Goji berry plants. I hear they are rich in vitamins. Are they the same as wolf berries or bear berries. Jesse, Ledyard, CT

Mort's Answer:
ou will probably find them in catalogues on line or in your mail. Most mail order nurseries will send out catalogues. Wolf berries are the common name for these bushes, Lycium barbarum. Goji bloom and fruit all summer until a heavy frost. They are quite hardy to zone 5 and grow to seven feet. The red berries are very sweet when fully ripe and can be used in salsa or eaten raw. Bear berry is Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, a reference to the attraction to bears. Large amounts of bear berry will cause humans to vomit.
