Drip Watering

Question: 772-2512
We are now experiencing drought as we did last summer. I was told that we can use drip watering. Somehow I do not see this working. What do you think? Diane, Austin, TX

Mort's Answer:
My son and I planted a white ash in Fort Worth, Texas a few years ago. We drove four plastic pipes down into the roots at the leaf drop. I told him at the time that I would bet his white ash would thrive and it did. You can also use the holes to fertilize every five years. With your soil as hard as it is, surface irrigation would likely flow off and not penetrate the roots.
